About Micro Care

This site is all about precision cleaning with solvents made from a chemical called nPB. We've designed this site to be accurate, up-to-date and helpful; maybe even a little bit entertaining. We've worked hard to include all information that you might need  (and to correct some of the mis-information out there) as you define your application. We hope this site helps you find your way to the answer that is best for you.

• Bromthane Solvents vs. Vertrel® HFC Solvents •

But we have our own bias, so here's a little disclaimer you may want to consider. For many of the toughest cleaning applications, such as de-waxing metal stampings or defluxing precision electronics, we advocate the use of the Bromothane™ cleaners, made by our good friends at Great Lakes Chemical. We also recommend the Vertrel® family of solvents and specialty fluids made by the wonderful people at DuPont. Both products are great cleaners which have their separate and distinct positions in the market. Both offer great cleaning at very affordable prices.

But just as the Vertrel® solvents are not right for every application, neither are the Bromothane™ products. Like every good tool, the solvent has to fit the job. This site has been designed to highlight those instances in which Bromothane™ solvents are the best choice. We also have made a serious effort to highlight the different circumstances where other technologies might be a better answer. Sure, we want you to use Bromothane™ but we want you to chose it for the right reasons and with the right expectations.
